I'm always on the lookout for eco-friendly products and first came across Skoy through one of my favorite blogs, Our Family Growing From Three To Four! Skoy is a earth friendly, reusable cloth that replaces paper towels and sponges. Just one Skoy cloth saves 15 rolls of paper towels and absorbs 15 times its own weight! These biodegradable cloths are made from a blend of natural cotton and wood-pulp cellulose.

Homemade Bubble Solution
Baby E loves when I blow bubbles. Her facial expressions when she sees the bubbles are precious and when she's cranky or moody, Blowing bubbles instantly soothes her.
The other day I ran out of bubbles (yes, it's possible to run out) and instead of buying a new bottle, I decided to make my own. After rummaging through my old lesson plans, I finally found the directions for making my favorite bubble solution!

Pots and Pans Band
Although this activity can get pretty noisy, Its a nice distraction for children especially on a rainy day. Allowing children to play with these simple kitchen items promotes fine and gross motor skills as well as hand eye coordination. Its also a great way to teach rhythm and is also appropriate for children of all ages.
Materials:
Large spoons
Pots
Pans

Prefense Hand Sanitizer Review and Giveaway!
I'm very germ conscious. When I worked in Childcare, I was constantly washing my hands. Since having my daughter, Not only am I constantly washing my hands, but I also use hand sanitizer when the option to wash my hands is unavailable. I usually apply hand sanitizer after touching shopping carts and things of that sort. It might seem a little OCD but go ahead and Google "Shopping cart germs." Just thinking about it makes me cringe!

Musical Shakers!
This is great craft to create with a preschooler or toddler and also something a parent can create for an infant! When I worked as an infant caregiver, I created shakers using different types of things such as rice, beans, bells, coins and pasta!
Not only are musical shakers fun instruments for preschoolers but they are great discovery toys for infants and toddlers and promote motor skills. I made a shaker for E and she loves playing with it! She explores by rolling it around and listening to the noise it makes.

I'm Still Here!
Hi everyone! I'm so sorry I've been MIA! Life and Mother Nature (specifically Hurricane Irene) have been keeping me from posting lately.
After Irene, my internet was down and it took my provider a few days before it was finally fixed. No big deal and we are truly blessed to not be affected as severely as other families in my area.
During the hurricane, The power only flickered in our apartment. My family and my in-laws who both live a few blocks away end up losing power for a few hours. I also have friends who ended up going without electricity for a week.
