itti bitti Minkee Change Mat {Review & #Giveaway}

For those of you not familiar with itti bitti, They are an Australian company that was established in late 2005 by founder and mom, Sue McLachlan. itti bitti was named after Sue's "itty bitty" daughter who is also the inspiration for her designs. itti bitti launched in the US in March of 2011 and their line consists of their amazing diapers, change mats, wet bags, wipes, nursing pads and more! 

I was very excited when I learned that itti bitti also made changing mats and I looked forward to trying one! The change mat I had prior to the itti bitti Change Mat fell apart after multiple uses and was a plastic material and that wasn't very comfortable for Baby E to lay on.  

I received an itti bitti Change Mat in the Ayannah print (shown below) which is rich in color and nice to look at. The itti bitti Change Mat is a very generous size that measures at 26.5" x 17.5" and is roomy enough for even a toddler to lay on. The front side is made of bamboo velour which is incredibly soft and the back is a very practical waterproof minkee material. This Change Mat is just like a soft blanket! 

The Change Mat fits great in a diaper bag or even a purse. I roll mine up and keep it in my backpack that I use as a diaper bag and it fits perfectly.

What I really like is that I can use the mat anywhere. I've used it at home, outdoors, and other places. Most recently I used it during a play date at a friends house. I just took it out of my bag and rolled it right out on the floor to change E. My friend loved the mat and even asked where she could get one for her little one! When I told her that mat was only $16.95 she couldn't believe that such a high quality changing mat was that low of a price!   

I also found that the itti bitti Change Mat is especially useful at the baby changing stations in public restrooms and a great eco-friendly alternative to those disposable changing table covers. I try not to change E's diaper in public restrooms but if she needs a diaper change, then I have no choice. Those changing tables are so hard and uncomfortable for E or any baby for that matter. The itti bitti Change Mat makes those hard tables more comfortable during those emergency changes. When I'm done with changing E's diaper, I just toss the change mat into my bag. 

When I get home, I put the itti bitti Change Mat right into my washing machine. That's right, the itti bitti Change Mat is machine washable unlike other changing mats! Wash in warm/hot water and line dry or tumble dry low. It's that easy!
