We don't watch too many DVDs but when we do, I like to make sure that what we're watching is going to keep E's attention and potentially allow her to learn something positive.
Snapatoonies is a wonderful series created by two moms who were inspired by their children. They have 52 episodes in production and each episode features topics such as counting, colors, the alphabet, and more. Snapatoonies won the Dr. Toy Best Picks Award in 2011 and is also a Kids First! Endorsement Award Winner.
The DVDs are available in USA and Canadian editions and there are four currently available including:
- Counting Kids
- Abby Apple and her Fruit Friends
- Magical Color Caller
- At the Zoo with Turtle
We had the opportunity to check out the Counting Kids DVD from Snapatoonies which is 23 minutes long. The DVD description on the website:
"Nathan just loves numbers! Join him, along with the clever kids on the Snapatoonies train as he counts up every one of his friends and rhymes his way from zero through ten."
I knew Snapatoonies Counting Kids was going to be a hit with E right off that bat! As soon as the theme song started at the beginning of the DVD, E was dancing and clapping her little hands! The song is super catchy and fun to sing along to!

This looks great for young children. Thanks for sharing them.
