TheBabaSling Baby Carrier from Joovy {Review}

I love babywearing and have been wearing E since she was a newborn. We've tried all types of carriers and I was never much of a sling person until recently when I had the opportunity to try theBabaSling by Joovy.

Let's start off with the specs:
  • Min Age: 0 months+
  • Max Age: 2 years
  • Min Weight: 7.7 lbs+
  • Max Weight: 33 lbs
  • Classic/Print/Organic Sling Weight: 1.04 lbs
  • Lite Sling Weight: 0.79 lbs

TheBabaSling's straps and dual railings are adjustable to fit your needs. I'm a bigger girl and feel that this sling is great for all shapes and sizes! The dual railings are padded and provides support and comfort for your infant (or toddler). According to the Joovy site, The sling is also shaped to support a newborn’s developing spine.

Another great feature is the second safety buckle which gives added security and is conveniently located right under the larger buckle. There is also a pocket to help position your infant properly but I actually ended up using it to store my cell phone and credit card in while running errands.

The hammock style sling can also be worn in five different carrying positions such as the Sleeping Tiger, Koala Cuddle, and the Side Saddle which are all demonstrated in videos on Youtube. The carrying positions also includes two breastfeeding positions that allow you to breastfeed discretely if you chose.

I had the opportunity to try out theBabaSling Organic which is made of 100% organic cotton. I'm more of a visual person so the directions provided in the instruction booklet were great because they included pictures. I also found the videos on Youtube extremely helpful! It didn't take me long to adjust theBabaSling to a safe and comfortable position. A good rule of thumb is to keep your baby's head close enough to kiss and it's obvious by looking at the examples in the instructions that Joovy took this into consideration.

My favorite photo of E in theBabaSling. Unfortunatley my husband didn't have the flash on when taking it.

We tried three of the positions but my favorite was the Side Saddle which I found was the best way to carry Baby E who is now a 22 pound toddler. E was a little too long for the Sleeping Tiger and the Koala Cuddle but the Side Saddle was perfect!

I adore this carrier for many different reasons and wish I had theBabaSling for when Baby E was an infant! For one, I liked how comfortable the carrier is, not just for me but for E also. The padding felt great on my shoulder and I like that the dual railings were padded for E's comfort.

I also like how versatile and easy to use the carrier is. The BabaSling was so convenient to use that I could see it becoming my "go to" carrier when running errands.

I highly reccomened this carrier to anyone who enjoys babywearing and for parents interested in wearing their baby. TheBabaSling would be a great first carrier for someone new to babywearing because of how easy it is to use and not overwhelming and confusing like some other carriers can be. The very detailed instructions provided and those wonderful videos on Youtube are also very helpful!

  7. I would have loved to wear my son longer but he's now a 35 lb toddler and he's been over 20 lbs since before his 6 month check up... it looks so comfy and practical to be able to hip carry your daughter!
