Getting Your Kids to Eat Fruits & Veggies Plus Earth's Best Apple Sauce #Giveaway

As we all know, fruits and veggies are a very important tool in the growth process. Eating them regularly is a great habit and there are so many health benefits! For one, eating fruits and vegetables regularly can alp reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and certain cancers. It can also reduce the chance of childhood obesity.

Sometimes children shy away from fruits and vegetables and many parents have a rough time getting their child to like them. One thing you can do as a parent is lead by example which is a great way to get children interested. Parents who eat more fruits and vegetables often have children who are less picky and more likely to consume more fruits and veggies. The key is to not pressure them into eating.

Other simple tips can be found in an article from Earth's Best website titled "Getting Your Child To Pick Fruits & Vegetables." One of those tips includes making fruits and vegetables readily available and doing things like leaving cut up fruits and veggies on the kitchen counter or in the refrigerator, within easy reach.

  38. We order fresh fruits and vegetables from BountifulBaskets.org (a great volunteer-run food co-op), and every two weeks we take the kids with us while we volunteer and distribute food among the baskets, and the kids help break down cardboard boxes. They get excited to see what we have in our basket each time, and they love seeing their friends each time we pick up. So, they feel more involved in getting the fruits and veggies, and then when we get home, the kids help me unpack the food, and wash and put it away. Getting them involved in the process makes them more interested in eating what they helped to get.
