I had a hard time picking out gifts for E last year. She was 8 months old around Christmas time and I wanted to make sure she would receive gifts that not only were age appropriate, but would be something she could grow with as she got older. While shopping, I spotted a Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn, Learn & Move Music Station that I knew would be great for E! The only problem was that it was over $50 and ath the time, not something I could afford to pay for all at once. Even though I had started holiday shopping in early November, like many, money was pretty tight for our family last holiday season.
After talking with my mom, she asked, "Hey, do you know if Kmart still has a layaway program?" My mom actually used Kmart layaway for holiday gifts when I was a kid. I'm sure you can guess that I headed right over to me favorite Kmart store and lo and behold, they have a great layaway program! They also had the toy that I wanted for E and that day, I started my first layaway!
Only Kmart offers an online layaway option and they don't have a minimum item or transaction amount. Kmart also gives you the option to pay online and pick up in store unlike other layaway programs. Check out the comparison chart below!
Starting a layaway with Kmart was the best thing I could have done last holiday season and I can't wait to do it again this year! I've already have my eye on a few things I want for E including Mattel's Little People Disney Princess Songs Palace.
Kmart recently launched the “Big Layaway Giveaway”. There is one layaway giveaway per store, per week, every week from 9/9/12 through 11/17/12! ReplyDeleteI remember growing up my mom would use the layaway program at Kmart! I think it's so wonderful that they are doing a giveaway like this AND offer free layaway.
