Eco Nuts from Crunchy Momma, Crunchy Baby! {Review}

I'm always looking for eco-friendly and green products to try, even when it comes to laundry!

You may have heard of Eco Nuts which was recently featured on the show Shark Tank. Eco Nuts is a certified USDA organic laundry soap that is fragrance free, hypoallergenic, biodegradable and non-toxic. Eco Nuts aren't really nuts, They are dried berry shells from the Sapindus Mukorossi tree which can be found in the Himalayas. These berries have been used for centuries to clean clothes and are a highly effective, all natural cleaner!

I received a trial size of Eco Nuts from one of my favorite retailers, Crunchy Momma, Crunchy Baby! They are very reasonably priced and Crunchy Momma, Crunchy Baby offers medium and large packages of the Soap Nuts as well as the trial size. They also sell extra Eco Nuts bags and Eco Nuts liquid detergent.

Eco Nuts are safe to use in top loading, front-loading and High Efficiency (HE) machines. To use, simply place 4-5 Eco Nuts in the wash bag provided and toss your Eco Nuts into your washing machine. When you are done with your load of wash, remove the bag of Eco Nuts and set aside to dry or do another load wash. You can reuse your Eco Nuts for up to 10 times or until they start to disintegrate.

I first used Eco Nuts on a load of laundry. I was nervous that the Eco Nuts weren't cleaning my clothes due to my own error but Jennifer of Crunchy Momma, Crunchy Baby assured me that they were working fine and I was using them properly! Once the wash and dry was completed, I carefully inspected our clothing and found that everything looked and smelled great! E had some puree stains on her shirts and washing in Eco Nuts got the stains right out!

The next load of wash I did was a load of E's cloth diapers. Eco Nuts recommends washing no more than 24 cloth diapers at a time. They also suggest after doing a pre-wash, putting 2-4 Eco Nuts in the cloth bag and setting your machine to a Hot-Cold cycle and start.

The load of diapers I washed was made up of 15 diapers and 15 micro fiber inserts. I used all 5 Eco Nuts in the cloth bag and pre-washed in warm water and did a warm/hot wash. When I pulled the diapers from the washer, they were clean and there was no smell. After drying, I took another sniff and all I smelled was the scent of fresh diaper laundry! I've since used those cloth diapers on E without any issues so I am convinced that the Eco Nuts did it's job!

Would I use them again? Definitely! I recommend Eco Nuts to anyone looking for a alternative laundry detergent alternative! You can find more information on Eco Nuts by visiting the Crunchy Momma, Crunchy Baby website.
