Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get the Sillies Out {Review}

Our family recently went to see a performance of Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get the Sillies Out at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, NJ. E loves Yo Gabba Gabba (or "go-go Gabba" as she calls it) and it's one of those children's shows that I don't mind watching with her. As a parent, I appreciate the messages the show promotes but most of all, I secretly enjoy the music and love that Yo Gabba Gabba has featured some of my favorite artists. It's definitely a guilty pleasure.

We arrived at the theater and before the show, We checked out the merchandise booth which had shirts, toys, plush Yo Gabba Gabba characters and more. We ended up purchasing a hot pink Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get the Sillies Out tour shirt for E which had all the tour dates listed on the back! Next to the merchandise booth was a lovely woman with Yo Gabba Gabba stamps and E was able to get her hands stamped with her favorite Yo Gabba Gabba Characters!

E showing off her stamped hands!

We took our seats in the theater I couldn't wait to see the expression on E's face! When the show began and the Gabba gang joined the stage with DJ Lance, E was cheering in excitement and so was the crowd! Confetti bursted from cannons on each side of the stage which was really cool and quite a pleasant surprise for the kids in the front rows!

E was amazed at the sight of seeing her Gabba friends come to life on stage! She sang along and danced to her favorite Yo Gabba Gabba tunes which included “Hold Still”, “Get the Sillies Out”, and “I Love Bugs!" Even I was singing along!

I liked that the intermission went by fast and was only about 20 minutes long. I feel like it's better for children who we all know can become restless after waiting for a long period of the time! By the start of the second half, E was was tired and antsy so we moved to the back of the theater and all was fine! I think she just wanted to stand up which was hard to do from our seats since we were in the middle of the row.

I suppose my favorite part was the second half of the show when Biz Markie came on stage for "Biz's Beat of the Day". E loved seeing Biz Markie as well and beat boxed with him and the kids who were selected to go on stage.

Some other highlights include the bubbles that blew out into the crowd which reached the front rows. There was also the "Super Music Friends Show" which featured saxophone player Michael Park who sang a fun song for the audience! The show ended with the song "Goodbye" which E swayed side to side and sang along with the crowd.

If you have a Yo Gabba Gabba fan (or fans) at home, I highly recommend the show! It was a fun experience for not just E but, for myself and my husband too! The crowd was energetic and it was an overall great time!
